NEON ZINN by Seth Damm is influenced by the words of activist/historian Howard Zinn. He optimistically stated that even in the midst of ongoing atrocities and injustice, the present moment is where humans should put stock in the future. This present moment is where chance encounters become life changing, where wild reverie is found in everyday materials and where the future is happening right now. The NEON ZINN collection lingers in this bright and exquisite potential. Each rope necklace provides an open invitation to communicate with the peculiar and particular in ourselves and to fill each moment with creative potential. Each length of rope is hand dyed in small batches. The placement of color is equal to formal concerns with touches of brilliance from twine, thread, and ribbon providing structural anchors as well as rhythmic embellishments. The softness of the organic cotton rope brings a distinct wearability to even the most sculptural necklace. NEON ZINN is the unique vision of Artist/Designer Seth Damm. With a background in painting, printmaking, installation and performance, his artistic practice is bound to concept and craft. NEON ZINN necklaces are both sculptural statements and inquiries into the possibilities inherent in simple materials. In little over one year NEON ZINN is already catching the eye of major U.S. retailers, as well as being written about in online design blogs such as Design Milk. NEON ZINN has been featured in ELLE DECOR, SEATTLE magazine, GRAY, and SEATTLE Met.
