Since its inaugural show in May 2016, form & concept has invited diverse creatives to unleash their superpowers in a series of dynamic exhibitions. The mission is to explore the perceived boundaries between art, craft and design—and expand the public’s understanding of their interdependence in the contemporary world. The One-Year Anniversary Exhibition opens with a Superhero Masquerade celebration on Friday, May 26 from 5-8 pm.

“It’s time to bring fresh stories to Santa Fe’s contemporary creative scene,” says Frank Rose, form & concept Gallery Director. “Just as we’re asking visitors to reconsider the categories of art, craft and design, we’re working to break down barriers to diversity in the art world.” form & concept’s roster of represented artists has been steadily growing all year, making for a varied and dynamic One-Year Anniversary Exhibition. Featured artists include Heidi Brandow, Heather Bradley, Matthew Mullins, Wesley Anderegg, Debra Baxter, Brett Kern, Armond Lara, Matthew Szosz, Rebecca Rutstein, Elana Schwartz, Mark Newport and an array of jewelry artists in the form & concept shop.

The Superhero Masquerade invites gallery visitors to dress in superhero duds for a costume contest and other festivities. Guests who come in costume will have the opportunity to partake in a VIP cereal bar. DJ Miss Ginger will provide music during the event, and El Sabor Spanish Tapas y Masss will serve up food in form & concept’s parking lot. The party marks the debut of form & concept’s One-Year Anniversary Exhibition featuring the gallery’s represented artists, along with a new media installation by Cory Metcalf and David Stout of NoiseFold.

A gallery talk featuring form & concept artists Matthew Mullins and Wesley Anderegg will take place on Saturday, May 27 from 2-3 pm. Noisefold will appear at a gallery talk on Saturday, June 17 from 2-3 pm.

The Noisefold installation will be on view at form & concept through July 22, and the One-Year Anniversary Exhibition runs through October 22.
