New Mexico Fiber Crawl Weekend

Sponsored and organized by the Española Valley Fiber Arts Center, the New Mexico Fiber Crawl offers fiber enthusiasts the opportunity to visit independent yarn stores, artists’ studios, fiber centers, farms, galleries, and museums to feel, touch, and find inspiration from beautiful and unique fiber products.

 

As an official 2019 Fiber Crawl Site in Santa Fe, form & concept will exhibit a special selection of textile works. The gallery will open its doors to New Mexico Fiber Crawl participants for the entire weekend, with extended Sunday hours from 12 to 5 PM.

 

Susan Aaron-Taylor takes inspiration from dreams to craft felt sculptures which metamorphose animal forms with archetypal meaning

 

Nika Feldman creates intricate garment-like sculptures from repurposed t-shirts and aluminium pull tabs inspired by the coded language of clothing.

 

Lisa Klakulak manipulates the comforting and protective qualities of felt into deeply personal wearable artworks, drawing inspiration from natural environments.

Mark Newport embroiders mended patterns onto muslin, as well as knitting life-sized superhero costumes.
