The exhibition’s most elaborate and hopeful work is a five-foot swath of Burmese camouflage fabric adorned with intricate embroideries that honor each of Burma’s 135 indigenous ethnic groups and unrecognized ethnic groups such as the Burmese Chinese, Panthay, Rohingya, Burmese Indians, Anglo-Burmese and Gurkha, who have suffered violence and persecution at the hands of the junta.
