Remembering Tigre at form & concept: 1-4PM

8 October 2022
435 S Guadalupe St Open to all

PLEASE NOTE: This event will be streamed live on Zoom (click here at the time of the event) and IG Live (visit our Instagram), starting at 1:15pm MT.

Please join us in person or online for Remembering Tigre, a memorial event celebrating the life and artwork of Tigre Mashaal-Lively. The beloved Santa Fe artist and community activist passed away on October 1, 2022. Tigre dedicated their life to the joyful pursuit of dance, artistic creation, unabashed self-expression and social justice.

Tigre's loved ones will offer stories, poetry and music outside the gallery. The event will feature artworks by Tigre in our second-floor galleries, a performance by Anastazia Louise of Bad Unkl Sista, and refreshments graciously provided by tender fire and Paloma. Please bring tokens of love and remembrance for a community altar within The Solacii.

For in-person visitors, please note that masks are required. We strongly recommend bringing a raincoat or umbrella, as some of the proceedings will take place outdoors (there's a 63% chance of rain).

Donations to support Tigre’s legacy can be made to Make Love Visible and Earthseed Black Arts Alliance.

Statement

We are deeply saddened to announce that on the night of October 1, 2022,  beloved Santa Fe artist and community activist Tigre Mashaal-Lively (Jami Lewis Marshall-Lively) left this world of their own volition to travel to the next realm of their being. Tigre dedicated their life to the joyful pursuit of dance, artistic creation, unabashed self-expression and social justice.

This brings up a well of grief for the loss of such a cherished and bright light that shone as only Tigre could. We are asking everyone to join us in holding these events with grace, forgiveness, and absolute trust in Tigre’s Spirit. Tigre leaves behind their mother Linda Marshall, their father Donald Lively, their partner Jhana Goldenflame, their cat IshqAllah, their family in Santa Fe as well as uncountable friends and loved ones all over the world.
