18 November 2022
435 S. Guadalupe St. Free

Join us on Friday, November 18 from 5-7pm for the opening reception of the group photography show under a rock, along the shore. Megan Bent will also appear in celebration of her new solo photography exhibition Patient / Belongings.

under a rock, along the shore is a national exhibition that explores the multifaceted legacy of the relationship between human, land and camera. The show’s photographs and objects evoke the experience of moving through and interacting with the high desert mesas and fertile valleys of the Desert Southwest, where most of the artists reside.

The show provides space for artists at all stages of their careers, from the emerging voices of Emily Margarit Mason, Justin Guthrie and Maryssa Chavez to  storied practitioners of photography like, Rinko Kawauchi and Will Wilson. The myriad of perspectives and interrogations that this show presents result in a delightful, surprising and critical experience of place and landscape.

Participating artists: Will Wilson, David Emitt Adams, Maryssa Chavez, Justin Guthrie, Dan Hojnacki, Stefan Jennings Batista, Rinko Kawauchi, Leah Koransky, Dakota Mace, Julia C. Martin, Emily Margarit Mason, Anna Rotty, Angela Faris Belt, Sam Zalutsky
