Artist Talk: Future Retrieval: 2–3 P.M.
Current event
Overview
435 S. Guadalupe St.
On Saturday, 24 January, from 2–3 P.M., join Guy Michael Davis of Future Retrieval (Davis and Katie Parker) for an artist talk about Underground World Experience, the collaborating artists' debut solo exhibition in New Mexico, featuring hand-cut paper assemblages, a hand-knotted wool textile, and ceramic pieces inspired by 18th-century books of botanical illustrations and Southwest desert masonry. During the talk, Davis will share how the collaboration Future Retrieval came to be, their engagement with museum collections and art history, as well as insights about medium choice and technical process. Join us for the rare opportunity to better understand the intersection of fine art, design, craft, and research through the contemporary practice of two of the Southwest’s most exciting interdisciplinary artists.
