When your painting studio is set adrift on the open sea, things can get a little messy. Philadelphia-based painter Rebecca Rutstein spent her last three artist residencies in close quarters with oceanographic cartographers, examining never-before-seen images of the ocean floor and translating what she learned into undulating, semi-abstract paintings. Jared Weiss has forgotten much of his subject matter. Or rather, the scenes that he paints are often buried somewhere deep in his unconscious. Santa Fe jeweler Stefani Courtois passed away in April 2017. This retrospective will feature jewelry and paintings from her diverse oeuvre. Courtois grew up in a small town in Northern California.
