Victor Atyas was born in Sarajevo, Bosnia Herzegovina, grew up in Italy, and at age 20 immigrated to the United States. Atyas later obtained a Ph.D. in psychology and while working as a clinical psychologist at the University of Rhode Island Counseling Center, he enrolled in night courses at the Rhode Island School of Design to study jewelry making. Now a long-time Santa Fean, Victor’s is well-known for his signature three-dimensional constructed gold and silver pieces, suited to be worn or framed and hung on a wall. His metalsmithing ability is reflected in the fine craftsmanship of the refined and elegant contemporary jewelry designs. Victor enjoys Camping, adventure traveling, writing fiction and travelogues, classical literature, classical music, stone and gem collecting.
