Designing with Paper Beads: July 7
One-day class: Saturday, July 7, 10:00am – 5:00pm, with break for lunch.
Workshop fee: $175
Material fee: $20
Learn how to make paper beads using using exotic, colorfully patterned handmade papers (provided) and then design and complete a finished necklace. A discourse on the history of paper and its use as decorative wearable art will begin the class. Incorporating other materials such as glass or metal beads and vintage jewelry parts will also be discussed.
All materials will be provided but students are encouraged to bring their own materials or papers that they would like to work with. Examples of finished paper bead necklaces will be on exhibit and for sale at the workshop.
A graduate of the NY School of Visual Arts, for the past 45 years Bunny Tobias' art has been represented by Santa Fe, NM art galleries and museums and she continues to create cutting edge ceramic art, paintings, mixed media collages and to design and fabricate jewelry using the same eclectic imagery.
Recent work includes sculptures using recycled material and hand fabricated bronze jewelry as well as making and designing paper bead jewelry. She is currently represented by form & concept gallery, Santa Fe.

If we do not meet our minimum, 7 days ahead of schedule the workshop will either be canceled or rescheduled. In either case you will be notified and your payment will be reimbursed or credited to a future class.
